How winners are selected

What counts toward the awards

There's nothing to enter. Every completed ScopeGrade project, reviewed by the homeowner, builds a contractor's record.

  1. 01

    Verified ScopeGrade projects only

Awards are based on projects hired, confirmed and completed through ScopeGrade. Imported reviews, testimonials and jobs a contractor enters themselves don't count.

  2. 02

Real outcomes, measured the same way for everyone

Homeowner reviews collected by ScopeGrade on every completed job, response and reliability, schedule against the agreed dates (allowing for weather, permits and homeowners' changes), disputes and how they were resolved, and quote completeness.

  3. 03

    Minimums before anyone is considered

A contractor needs enough completed projects and reviews, current verification and insurance, and no unresolved serious disputes. One perfect job can't win; volume adds confidence but can't buy a win.

  4. 04

    Fair comparisons

Trade awards compare contractors within the same trade; regional awards use the contractor's verified business location. Canada and the United States are separate programs.

  5. 05

    People review every winner

ScopeGrade staff check each shortlist for disputes, verification and integrity before approving winners. An award isn't issued where there isn't enough activity to choose fairly.

Not for sale

Contractors can't buy nominations, votes, a better ranking or an award badge. What a contractor pays ScopeGrade is never part of the scoring, there's no public voting, and an award doesn't change how contractors are ranked in the marketplace.
